Adorama never responded to me!!!

Hello Adorama, I have already filed a complaint against you with the BBB, and now I would like to draw your attention to Trustpilot as well as I have not received any response from their support regarding my trade-in (Trade-in number: 2327654). On February 15th, I traded in my Leica gear with Adorama to sell it through their platform. After receiving the prepaid UPS shipping label, I carefully packed and sent my gear to them. According to UPS tracking information, the package was delivered on March 5th. However, since that date, I have not received any communication from their trade-in team despite reaching out multiple times. I contacted Adorama’s support several times, and each time I was informed that the trade-in team would contact me, but they never did. On March 15th, I received an email notification stating that my package had arrived at their warehouse for inspection, but I have not received any further updates since then. Approximately one month ago, I called their support and was transferred to the trade-in team, who promised to contact me after 5 PM, but I never heard from them. It has been 2 months since the package was delivered, and I still have not received any updates despite my numerous attempts to communicate via email and phone calls. I am now reaching out to BBB and Trustpilot in the hope that Adorama will address my concerns. If they do not respond or resolve my issue, I will consider taking legal action. If someone from Adorama reads this, I urgently request either a payout or the return of my gear. The lack of communication and unfulfilled promises from their team have been extremely frustrating. Disappointing Experience with Adorama - Poor Customer Service and Unfair Practices

My experience with Adorama has been nothing short of disappointing and frustrating. I purchased a used computer from them, only to find out shortly after that the GPU was faulty. Seeking assistance from Geek Squad confirmed my suspicions. When I reached out to Adorama regarding the issue, I was met with a series of obstacles. Firstly, they insisted on me returning the entire computer package, rather than just the faulty GPU, for assessment. Despite my concerns about potential damage during shipping, I complied. Their subsequent assessment conveniently blamed the shipping process for damaging only the GPU, absolving them of responsibility. Instead of owning up to providing a faulty product, they shifted the blame onto the shipping company, leaving me to deal with the repercussions. Moreover, Adorama's handling of the insurance claim with the shipping company was disappointing. It seemed they were hoping the shipping company would foot the bill for a new GPU, rather than taking responsibility themselves. I was even required to provide evidence of the insurance payout, adding further frustration to the situation. To add insult to injury, Adorama now expects me to pay for the return shipping of my useless computer, despite doing nothing to resolve the issue or provide fair compensation. Overall, my experience with Adorama has been characterized by poor customer service, unfair practices, and a lack of accountability. I would caution others against purchasing from them, as their after-sales support leaves much to be desired.

If I could give them 0 stars I would! I ordered a used Fujifilm camera, rated E+. The camera arrived to my house in a box that was completely destroyed with only 2 layers of bubble wrap around the camera itself. To add, the camera was much smaller than the box, so it most defiantly shook around A LOT! When I contacted the customer service department they said they could offer me a partial refund, to pay for someone to examine the camera and ensure nothing was damaged internally. After several follow up calls and no answer for 9 days, they told me this shipping quality was "normal" and I would not be getting any refund. Once I spoke to the customer service agent to discuss this, they hung up on me. Terrible company, terrible customer service. I will never ever purchase form them again.

TLDR; Do not buy giftcards from this company. They will not honor your order when you try to redeem them. They do happily accept your payment when purchasing a $150,- giftcard. But they'll give you the hardest time when you try to buy something with it. Very sketchy, Adorama! I was gifted a $150,- giftcard from Adorama for my birthday, but when I tried to redeem it after two weeks, they emailed me there was an issue. Emailed them back with the receipt of the giftcard, but after some back-and-forth they canceled my order nonetheless. I was surprised and tried again. Order was again "put on hold". This time I called. I talked to one of their "verification reps" which wasn't enough proof for them to verify my order. They had me call my friend who bought the giftcard, which she did. She again showed them proof of the purchase of the giftcard. But even after going through that much trouble they still wouldn't release the order. They promised to call me back, which they never did. The next day I received an email that, again, my order was cancelled. I called them and was put on hold for 45 mins before a "supervisor" became available. He was very friendly, said he would 'escalate' the order and promised to get back to me withing 20 mins by phone or mail. He never did. After waiting for over an hour I called again. I was then told they tried to call me. They did not. I never received a call from them. I had my husband call me to check my number and my phone works fine. It was only then that I received a confirmation email that my order would be "processed" as soon as possible. I can only hope that means they will ship it. The problem is they lie. Their emails use confusing wording. They cannot properly explain why they see an issue with an order. Worse, they see issues that aren't there. My friend lives in Western Europe and apparently they can't wrap their heads around the fact that someone abroad wishes to buy a giftcard for someone who lives in the US. But they charged her Mastercard without asking questions. Interesting, isn't it? Unreliable. Sketchy. Extremely time consuming. And considering the many reviews about their terrible customer service they are aware of it. Don't trust them. Take your business somewhere else. P.S.: In the meantime I did receive several marketing emails form Adorama which I didn't ask for. When I tried to unsubscribe, my virusscanner warned me that their website has security issues.

Room for improvement

I had difficulty with the return process. I think it should be much smoother, especially if the wrong time is sent because it’s a slap in the face when I received the wrong item and have to go through hoops to return the item. I had to include pictures, provide serial numbers, etc. which if they did such a thorough check before sending the item we wouldn’t have this issue. Customer service manager did reach out and offer a $30 credit for the issue which I felt was generous for the time I wasted on the wait and return.

Changed the listing after purchase, sent me something different

I purchased a discounted DS923+ on Amazon from this company. They changed the listing after I purchased the NAS and changed my order without my permission to a 2TB SSD Instead of the initial order. When contacting them, they claimed it was a listing issue, but with a $1300 price tag before the discount I doubt that they were trying to sell an SSD. They canceled my order(because i contacted them early enough in the process) and would not send me the product I had purchased.

Would not cancel non-shipped order

Update: Fully creditable to Nancy, who took genuine ownership of my problem - after the complete debacle of Adorama's customer service reps. described below - I had the cancellation sorted out. My experience thus speaks as much about Nancy's grace, competence and genuine desire to help a customer, as it does about the incompetence of the customer service reps. who focused on avoiding helping me and caused really poor experience to begin with. I edited/upgraded the review fully based on Nancy's credibility, while noting that Adorama needs to have a much better customer service department so others don't have to go through such nightmarish experience. ---- I ordered a Macbook Air, for which an exact ship date was not available online at Adorama. After calling and confirming first that I could cancel quickly if the ship date would be too far away - I ordered online. I called two days after ordering, to ask for the ship date - and was told shipping would be 1.5 months away! I immediately requested cancelling and refunding for the order (which of course hadn't shipped, and Adorama stated online should be cancelled by calling) - was told the cancellation/refund would complete within 1-2 business days. Now 5 business days (1 week) later - the order has still not been cancelled, refund has not been issued - even after I called them 4-5 times, and Adorama promised cancellation each time (and been hung up on one time). I even emailed Nancy Miller who has been responding to the reviews below, before posting this review - to get her help with correcting the problem. I received no reply whatsoever from Adorama - at all ! The above is a simple matter, of canceling an order that has not been fulfilled, without having shipped anything out. It is not difficult to cancel an order that would only ship 1.5 months away, by any merchant ! This is truly a harrowing and horrible experience - readers can judge for themselves the level of customer service I received, and how I'm being harassed still.

I ordered a 28” Beauty Dish

I ordered a 28” Beauty Dish. I told the salesman I needed intended to use it on my Elinchrom ELB500 strobes. He told me I’d need to “Q” adapter to use on the ELB 500. I told ok and placed my order. The beauty dish was on back order and Adorama notified me via email. Later got email stating beauty dish was being shipped. I got two adapters one day and few days later the beauty dish arrive. I put the “Q” mount adapter on the beauty dish and then attached the ELB 500 strobe. The fit was perfect. When I put this light on the stand I notice there was a lot of flexing in the plastic tab where the light attached to the stand. The beauty dish was too heavy for the plastic mounting tab. So I called Adorama to see if I needed a special part to connect the beauty dish to the stand so I would not need to use the mounting tab on the lights. Eventually the weight of that beauty dish would break the mounting tab off my strobe. The Adorma sales rep told me they were in process of moving and couldn’t access the information needed to help me. He suggested that I call Elinchrom. I called Elinchrom and they told me to contact the company that made the Glow Beauty dish. I looked for a contact for Glow and they belong to Adorama with no contact info for help. So I was at deadend. I called B&H and they told me I probably needed and Elinchrom adapter so I ordered it. I called Adorama and asked them why they sent me the second adapter with my original order. This adapter for for the large Elinchrom strobes which I don’t have. I told the customer service rep that I had told the salesman what light in intended to use the Glow 28” beauty dish on. He sent me two adapters and only needed the Q mounted adapter. Adorama sent me a return label and I returned it for refund. After I received the Elinchrom adapter mount from B&H I could not get the Glow Beauty dish attached to the Elinchrom mount adapter. Called Elinchrom and sent them pics. The found out that adapter was only for Elinchrom light modifiers. They again recommend me to call Glow and see if them had a mounting adapter that would support the beauty dish. So with no help from Adorama and no contact info to contact Glow I had this Glow beauty dish with Q mount adapter that I could not use. I call Adorama told them the situation and they told me to send this back. At first Adorama was reluctant to send me a return label because I had already shipped back the large Elinchrom mount back which I had no need for. The customer derive lady agreed to sent me a second return label after explaining the situation. I received return label and shipped back both pieces. After couple weeks after returning I had not received anything from Adorama or my credit crazed company showing a credit. I call Adorama customer service and found out Adorama gave me an in store credit. This was never mention when talking to customer service. I did not know I had an in store credit because they never told me. I requested a refund to my credit card company and they gave me the refund as requested. First I’m disappointed that upon me telling the sales rep that I wanted the beauty dish to use on my ELB500 strobes. He told me Adorama had an Elinchrom Q mount that would connect the 28” beauty dish to my strobe. With them having this adapter I assumed it was made to use with the ELB500 strobes. They did hook up the the ELB500 but the beauty dish was too heavy and using the strobes outside the wind would cause a constant flexing of the mounting tab and break it off. Had I know this at time of ordering I would not have ordered it. I’m disappointed I couldn’t use this beauty dish with the lights I have. I feel it was a good deal for the price. The Glow 28” dish was made very well. It weighed about 7 lbs according to shipping info. Secondly a customer has returns Adorama should ask the customer if they want an in store credit or a refund. It took several calls to Adorama to get this mess resolved. Customer service was always very friendly and helpful.

2 new rp-8060fa klipsch speakers arrived damaged

Update - long story short Adorama was able to resolve this for me. I asked to speak with a manager and she immediately started processing the return of the damaged speakers. I originally ordered the speakers open box which I would not recommend because the packaging was subpar. I reordered them new and they were packaged in a way that made damage highly unlikely. I am now very happy with my speakers and I don’t think the deals adorama regularly offers can be beat. I ordered 2 new rp-8060fa klipsch speakers. They both arrived with major damage and I have been trying to resolve it now for 2 weeks. One of my speakers has a large hole in addition to scratches and dents in most of the corners. The other is the same but without the hole. The response from customer service was that the damage only looks cosmetic and they offered me $25 compensation. These are speakers that each cost over $1000. I don’t know why anyone would ever buy something new and then accept a damaged product. I am still trying to resolve this but wanted to warn others who may be considering ordering large speakers.

I will never be purchasing from this company EVER AGAIN. Reading reviews from other Adorama customers saying Adorama are thieves & have terrible customer service aligns with my experience too. I paid for VIP 360 accidental damage & they did not honor it when my telescope was damaged within the coverage window. Absolutely disgusting customer service.

Terrible Customer Service

I was told a specific number over the phone that my camera was worth. I was selling my beloved camera to pay for my wedding. Then I get to the store and Eric is not there. Remember the name Eric here because he truly needs to be fired. I spoke with his coworker who then gave me a lower number. Then Eric returned and gave me an even lower number than his coworker. I explained to Eric that this was beyond ridiculous and why would I ask for a quote to begin with if he was going to lowball me this much and he knows its to pay for my wedding. Next time I am selling something I truly value, I will go to B and H. And hopefully they dont hire Eric after he is fired here. Someone please fire Eric. And if you are ever selling your things, do NOT speak with Eric as he does not care.

Adorama redeems themselves and restores my loyalty.

Update- Adorama made me whole. After managing to speak to customer service in the US, my issue was resolved within 24 hours. How a company responds to adversity speaks volumes about them. They took ownership and rectified the problem quickly Kudos! Shipped my lens into their used department, they have had the item for three weeks now and not a word, call, or email. I have called 4 times and spoken to customer service and each time you hear the same thing from the outsourced customer service center, we are not able to call or chat live with the used dept. We have escalated the issue and you will hear from someone in 48 hours, I have never heard from anyone.

Really poor customer service

I have placed three orders with Adorama and every single order has had an issue. Their customer service phone line doesn't seem to be working right now. And the responses you get from the chat never get followed up on. I will be taking all of my business to B&H in the future. Good luck to those out there ordering.

Well today I ran out of the black ink…

Well today I ran out of the black ink and I opened the ink, the new ink and tried to put it in my Epson printer, and it wouldn’t go in, it did not fit, so I looked at it and looked at it, and sure enough that little things in the back are not the proper fitting for my printer, so I looked at the sales receipt And apparently Epson makes another 157 LLK black ink for probably another machine. I don’t know but I did call today. The man hung up on me. He would not let me talk to a manager and then he called me back and asked me if I opened it and I said yes I told you I tried to make it fit today and it wouldn’t fit and he just told me you know that it’s not returnable. And I’m like what? And then and he already hung up and I was still talking. This is very very bad service that adorama is having I’m 69 years old. Don’t need to sit here and wonder why Epson made two ink cartridges with the same look and the same number on it I should not have to pay $33.88 for something because it’s past the 30 days that simply ridiculous I need a refund or a replacement. This is unfair. You guys make a lot of money and you should not be taking advantage of us people who just wanna print something.

Missing item

Ordering online line went smoothly, and estimated delivery date was accurate. Received my package on the day it was to arrive. Upon opening package and items were in excellent condition, but on item was missing from order. Packing slip showed it was packed. Called customer service and within less than 10 minutes issue was resolved and a replacement was ordered. Great place to shop and customer service is outstanding!!
