Beyond my expectations! The folks with Emerald were great to work with and the instrument speaks for itself...literally. The carbon X7 is gorgeous and the sound, acoustic or plugged-in, would be hard to beat with an instrument this size.
Actually I purchased the x20 nylon on 28.04.2024 and paid $95 for courier shipment. Up to now 10.05.2024, I don’t have any notice from courier, supposed to be UPC, and it looks like to guitar is shipped be the national post service, which is utterly incorrect having in mind the value of the instrument and the time and the obstacles related with such a delivery.

Amazing guitar! Great care setting it up and packing it. Unbelievable sound and sustain. I chose LR Baggs element pickup which sounds good plugged in. Would like to be able to hear the different options at higher quality before making a call - but that’s possibly my fault - high quality recordings might be available on the site - and I was biased by LR Baggs “Anthem” in another guitar. I don’t regret the selection. The action is excellent and the guitar is really responsive. Looks aren’t everything but they certainly help and my x20 looks a lot better than I do! As usual, the ordering experience was perfect, communication was great, and I was made to feel like family.
The buying experience was not hard or bad. Was’t really personably either though, but that’s the nature of buying online I suppose. The build your own virtual guitar is a really good way of getting the guitar a person wants. It really shows a person what he/she could get. That said I bought one that was in stock. But I knew what I wanted from the virtual guitar builder and looked for one like that and found it.
They build an absolutely beautiful instrument, but, that's not the best part. I ordered an X30 because I play a solo act and I play a lot of bass accent lines and arpeggiate my chords with lots of chord extensions.This guitar covers all that ground AMAZINGLY well and in addition is the most comfortable and easy to play acoustic I have ever had the pleasure to play. I got this guitar on a Wednesday, I set the action the way I like it and on Thursday evening I played my usual 3 hour straight gig without taking a break. I have to admit, I was apprehensive about ordering a guitar in that price range having never played one, but I loved this guitar so much the very first night I played it, I got up the next morning and immediately ordered another model , a Chimaera and I simply cannot wait to get my hands on it. These are fantastic instruments.

Always a great experience from start to finish. Mark and Davy were very helpful answering questions before the sale and the guitar arrived in tune and beautiful much quicker than expected. The Virtuo is an amazing guitar. It does everything well.
I haven’t received
The X30 you made for us arrived today, just about a week after its shipping room video. We live in the middle of Canada and did not pay extra for shipping and it got to us in great condition, well packaged, so quickly. The guitar looks beautiful. It sounds great and is so much fun to play. We have been playing it all day, and I just realized now that we still haven't tuned it yet. Davy played it in his video jam the week before the guitar was officially displayed on the shipping video, so we knew it sounded great. We would like to give him a special thank you for choosing our guitar to play. It was a great pleasure to see it being played by such an accomplished musician. Thank you so much for everything! Well .. it's been way too long ! I now have two very special Emerald Guitars. My X20 is an amazing guitar made exactly to my needs . It has an X10 neck- so it's really comfortable and slim , a 12 fret neck , and string spacing at 2 1/4. Some problem with the high E string was diagnosed ( tinny sound) by Steve McCool who spoke with me by video call, and then shipped the X20 back for a new bridge ! Problem solved ! The X7-12 also has a more narrow neck at 1 11/16, making it very playable . Great for fingerstyle as well. Please don't hesitate to ask for what your needs are - my experience is .. you might be surprised at what can be done ! The web design interface for guitars was easy to use. The ordering process went smoothly. Communication about the progress of my guitar's construction has been good. I can wait for it to arrive.
This is a website like no other to build a guitar. Very impressive tech. I did need some support from the company, and I was connected to Davy by email who responded very quickly to each question and helped me resolve any questions. It will be a while before I receive this custom order, but from everything I've read and heard, it's a killer product. Thanks Emerald!
Explaining the process clearly. The information on the web site about what should be done with credit company was helpful. Davey went the extra mile for me. My order came in while the factory was closed Easter week and he happened to be in the office and routed through. Thank you davey.
Although I did not have any contact with the sales team, the 3d build on the web site was extremely easy to use. I was able to build and order my custom guitar with no issues. Upon placement of the order I immediately received a confirmation and receipt of payment. Today (26 days later) I received an email advising me of the start of the build. Great communication.
I have yet to receive the guitar. Davy has been wonderful to work with, very responsive and informative- Buying a high end guitar can be an experience full of excitements and expectations- i would suggest that once order is made, you create a regular status update- that reduces the anxiety and keeps the customer engaged- thank you
