I purchase stuff here on the regular basis and have been doing for many years now and hardly ever have any issues - if something is missing or not good they sort it out straight away! I love this shop and the fact that I can search by plastic free tag for example. I love so many of their products - they really have good suppliers!

The first time i ordered a box 12 Lemon…

The first time i ordered a box 12 Lemon Cookie biscuits arrived and they were soft, they sent a replacement box, This time the biscuits were not soft but broken, I send an email with a pic and was ignored, I called and was on hold for ages offered £5 voucher off next order. Some of the biscuits are powdery and I’m not giving my mothers these biscuits as a gift. So that’s the best they could do, I will be returning them. Waste of time and money. Beware their packaging is not fit for postal purpose.

Great variety of ethical products. Organisation itself highly ethical based on Ethical Consumer rating. I've had a few instances where items got damaged in transit. When this has happened, I was promptly issued with a refund on the items without any issues. Very impressed overall

Shocking after-sales service

Shocking after-sales service when they sent the goods to the billing address by their mistake, then they lied to us on the phone and now refuse to address the issue or answer emails. Goods maybe ethical (are they really?) but the way they treat customers certainly isn't. But they don't care, do they.

Great care in packing and great customer service

I like Ethical Superstore because they have an amazing range of choice for Easter chocolates. The customer service is great and grateful when we let them know if there is a logo missing for one of the items (eg "no palm oil"). Their logo system makes it easy to spot what we want when shopping : dairy free, gluten free, vegan, no palm oil etc. I love it! And delivery is pretty quick. Only one egg arrived broken which isn't bad because it was a big order and these are fragile items and they are very well packed.

Dreadful service

Dreadful service. Last 3 orders I have had a Dpd delivery problem. This time Dpd decided not to deliver,and didn’t let me know. I had an email from EC saying I’ll get a part refund. I phoned to find out why and was told there was nothing they can do. No apology. Furious. EC need to review their delivery partner, I’ve had so many problems with Dpd.

I ordered some fluoride free…

I ordered some fluoride free toothpaste, but when confirmation came through it didn’t state fluoride free so I contacted customer service via email as office was closed. The order was dispatched before email was read so they couldn’t recall order. It turns out I apparently ordered the wrong item, I know I didn’t but just have there word. I questioned the invoice straight away it’s not my fault they despatched before they read email. Something in my gut was telling me there was a glitch as it didn’t state fluoride free which I thought strange. Customer service is appalling, could have been easily rectified by them advising to send back and they will send out the correct item. But nope, they would rather charge me £5 to return plus then me having to reorder. Disgusted as no regard for the customer, they would rather lose a customer than be customer focused. The whole process is flawed. I work in customer service so find it hard when a company isn’t fully customer focused. We all make mistakes we are human, but to basically have no regard is so bad. Your meant to be an ethical company! No empathy or ethical morals here just pure greed.

Item damaged during delivery...again.

I placed a basic order of only three items. Two of the items were fine but one of the items was damaged during the delivery and transit process. I called the customer service department and spoke to the employee named Brian. I told Brian that the item was damaged and he agreed to send me a replacement at no extra cost. This was fine with me and was what I wanted. But, the replacement item was also damaged during the delivery and transit process the second time around. While I was discussing the first refund with Brian, I told him that liquid items will always be damaged and leak during the delivery process unless companies change the way they package and transport the items. I suggested a new method of packing the items to Brian and told him that if they use this method it will ensure that no further items are damaged. But Brian's response was "Okay, I will let the team know about this method". He did not sound very enthusiastic or in agreement with what I was saying. And then, the store did not use my suggested method. They did try a different method compared to their original method, but their new method also failed. The replacement item was still damaged and leaking when I received it. If they would have listened to me and used my suggested method, I am confident that the replacement item would not have leaked. If online retailers and companies such as Ethical superstore, simply listened to their customers's feedback and requests, they would be massively more successful and profitable, and they would avoid unecessary returns, refunds and negative reviews online. Hopefully, they will start listening soon.

Been using Ethical Superstore for years and never had a single problem with either service or products. They're the best I know for range of Fairtrade, Organic and sustainable products that do less harm to the planet. That's what I want to eat, wear and use. Great range of products and excellent customer service! I emailed because a bottle of bathroom cleaner had leaked in transit. I received a courteous reply the same day and a replacement product the following day. Really impressed. If only all ecommerce sites conducted themselves with such integrity!
