I purchased an oak lintel to go above our wood stove. Initially it looked ok- although the finish/ stain on the wood was not great. Over a period of 3 months the lintel has warped and twisted creating an unsightly uneven and unusable lintel. The lintel has moved so much that it has displaced and cracked the surrounding plaster on the chimney breast- all of which now needs to be replaced at cost to ourselves. I strongly believe that the wood we were supplied was not fully dried out and should not have been sold in such a condition. After complaining to the company I was told that the reason for the movement was due to incorrect installation and so I would not be receiving a refund/ replacement. However, I have since spoken to the fitter who has inspected the lintel, and based on past experience, advised the wood is not fully seasoned.
Beam looks lovely, exactly what I was looking for and this was the best price I found for it as well. Has a lovely rustic look and looking forward to seeing how the beam changes over time. Beam feels quality and has a good weight. Delivery was in good time. Only thing I’d say is that the beam left a few marks on the wall probably from the stain it has had. Not a problem to touch up and it may be that we put the beam up too soon after it being delivered. Definitely would order from funky chunky again

10/10, lovely very strong well made and finnished chunky bed and very easy to put together. Would highly recommend this to friends and family. No issues with roadside delivery and moved easily by myself.
Love the design but quality of finish is poor. The table was exactly what we were looking for. Rustic and chunky. But 'rustic' seems to be a excuse to finish the item poorly. For example, the table top planks were bowed, to the point that glasses wobble when placed on top. And the countersunk holes for the screws had been rushed so have loose, sharp timber still attached. The table was also dented during transit. These things happen but to put it right Funky Chunky furniture sent me a free 'repair kit' that contained half a flannel from a hotel (label still attached), 3 scraps of sand paper and some wax. I'm unsure how they expect that to remove a dent. I'm happy with my table in situ but can't recommend due to poor quality product and service.

Bed looks lovely and easy to put together The delivery was disappointing , kerbside delivery I live on my own and had to carry a very heavy bed alone this was not stated until purchased .I feel when spending this amount of money it would be placed in my home I will be shopping at John Lewis next time due to this fact

Ordered a Dining room Table on 12/04/2024. Was advised 2 - 3 weeks for delivery. Today 03/05/2024 and still no idea when we will receive it. The table was dispatched 2 days ago but still no update who or when it will be delivered. Were advised that the pallet company will be in touch in 2 Working Days. Hopefully the product is better than the poor dispatch /delivery service. 08/05/2024 Unfortunately, my experience has not improved. No-one provided the contact details for Customer Services. The Table turned up yesterday, unannounced, the pallet company never contacted me to arrange for the delivery, prior to the delivery. Table top was also damaged (scratched) in transit. Only bubble wrapped as protection and not on a pallet. I have sent the photos to Funky Chunky Furniture but did not receive a reply. I therefore would not recommend this company.

I purchased the Coleridge Headboard Bed Frame and am loving my new bed. It is solid, easy to put up, and looks exactly as the pics displayed on their website. I was a bit worried about time to make / deliver, having read previous reviews... So I called up before ordering to check that the time estimates on the site were accurate... They answered straightaway and made it clear that those times are to make the product, but to probably add maybe one to two weeks to include dispatch and delivery, and also Easter. I got an email to say it had been dispatched and then the delivery company called a few days later to arrange delivery. All worked fine and was as expected. The driver was super friendly, even wheeled the pallet across my drive to my front door, no issues at all. I think its made very clear that this a kerbside delivery. The pallet was packed very well and loads of protective wrapping. I unpacked the pallet outside and moved the individual bits inside on my own, no problem. A few things to note: You don't hear anything from Funky Chunky after placing the order until dispatch, which might be an issue for some people, given how much money you are spending. Maybe a few simple emails on build progress or something would be good idea. When you get the bed, unwrap it right away and leave it somewhere indoors to air for a day or two. The wood stain has a smell to it, so better to let it air and not try to set it up right away. Last point, and this is very minor and doesn't impact the product really. But if I was Funky Chunky, I would give the edges of the slats a very quick rub/sand... Its just where they have been cut, they are pretty rough and sharp, and it just looks a bit unfinished. But, I love the bed, and once there in, it has no impact, hence the 5 stars 🙂
