My garden furniture was very weathered to grey. The cleaner and brightener made no obvious difference to the colour or surface texture and took all day to do, but the oil was easy and quick to apply (I went with a brush rather than cloth to put plenty on to the dried wood). It made grey chairs very dark, black in places, with just one coat (will do more) however needed more than the 500ml supplied in the kit, hence the extra 2.5L purchase. In future would just try the oil alone, which is good value - not diluted with solvents like some similar products
