I am a professional level photographer also running a nonprofit for artists.
I buy equipment for use in the nonprofit art project I run serving underserved populations yet with an MFA level studio and/or mentoring dynamic. I am a professional photographer, artist, and teacher, and have had excellent experience buying, and trading with MPB over the years. I began purchasing from MPB in 2021 and, again, my most recent transaction was this month, May 2024. They are excellent at follow up, totally responsible regarding returns, which I have utilized, and an amazing service for photographers and the entire industry, being a safe way to buy and sell pre-owned equipment. I recently (April and May 2024) bought and returned an approximately $2000 package, i.e., camera plus lens, (Sony A7r ii camera body plus Sony 20-240mm full frame e mount lens) and then bought an approximately $1000 package including the Tamron 50-400mm for Sony FE mount, all done without hassle. The equipment was in perfect shape, as described, but I simply realized that I needed a different camera body and lens, and was within their return period, so I happily payed return shipping. It behooves the customer to make careful prudent note when initiating a purchase (rather than later) of MPB's return policies. They are fair including the period of time for no charge return or exchange, and in what situations MPB pays return shipping (specifically if the equipment has any problems), and in which situations (e.g. if one simply changes their minds on the purchase) that the customer must pay return shipping, as I did. I was particularly helped, with expertise, and also patience and follow through, by their staff members Manda, and Meimi, and I am probably forgetting quite a few other excellent persons who carefully helped my transactions over my years of buying and selling with MPB. Since my photographic work is all done in serving the nonprofit I run, MPB has thus added to the level and quality of the project, particularly in its website, large format archival pigment printing, and film, presence.
