Not good service, really great service!

It is uncommon nowadays to get good customer service. Its very rare to get really great service. I wanted to thank and congratulate the team for looking after me so brilliantly recently. I suspect it's a culture that runs through the company from top to bottom with amongst other things meticulous attention to detail. I make particular mention of the Customer Services Manager who is a star: helpful, supportive, responsive and a joy to deal with.

No response to email / Badly routed cables

The bike arrived well packaged and safely. However the initial cable setup was "unique" with cables extending around the wrong side of the headset and up into the air. I had also expected a UK setup of front brake on the right, after chatting to staff at the showroom. This was not the case. My local bike shop has now made the swap and tidily arranged the cables around the front of the headset as I would have expected Ribble to do. I emailed requesting information about a spare rear derailleur hanger but received no response. Before ordering, I had been measured in the store for a handlebar width and stem size as customization - unfortunately I did not order in time before the website was updated removing any customization of these sizes.

Whole buying experience wasn’t great

Whole buying experience wasn’t great, lots of confusion as to whether the bike I wanted was reserved or not, different opinions by different staff. Once bike received, there were no pedals, contacted customer care and have never had a reply, so really disappointed

British made and good service so far!

Good website. Staff on live chat friendly and knowledgable. Updates recieved throughout process. Still waiting on bike, purchased on 3 May and hopefully due for delivery on or before 17th May (10 to 14 days as per order). Impressed so far!!

Cashless Fail

I’ve had my electric assist endurance bike for 2 years .I only use the assistance on hills otherwise switched off for which it is brilliant at getting me to places I would normally struggle on .When switching off there does seem to be a drag restriction otherwise the bike is superb. Both me & my brother were going to buy Gravel bikes from them but astonishingly they refused to take cash which is unbelievable in this day & age as our businesses survive on cash, so for this reason they turned down 8.5k of business as we bought from another retailer who readily accepted our money.

Was given a despatch date in the…

Was given a despatch date in the showroom when I ordered the bike, then I got an email the following week giving a despatch date 2 weeks later. Two weeks before the later despatch I was given a 3rd despatch date, 2 weeks later again. This 3rd despatch date was a date when I was on holiday, so I contacted customer service and asked for the bike to be held back 3 days so that I was at home when it was despatched. Customer services agreed to do that, and confirmed by email. The bike was actually despatched on the 3rd date I’d been given and wasn’t held back 3 days as agreed by customer service.

The service in store was excellent. I've deducted a star as my two week old bike wouldn't change into the top gear range. When I called the Clitheroe store, they told me to go to a bike shop! We only sell them. One of the staff could have adjusted the derailleur for me I'm sure.

Post Purchase Communication could be better

I found my experience with Ribble to be a mixed bag. I am very satisfied with the bike and the buying experience up to the point of purchasing was very good. The website is excellent and is full of luring eye candy. Upon purchase I knew there would be a 6 week wait for the build and I was prepared for this. However, after I made the purchase, I had very little information. I received no email confirmation or thank you for your purchase. The only way I knew I had an order was with the money leaving my account and an online portal with very limited information telling me that my order was received, but no due date; it didn't even state when I had made the order. After a few weeks I sent an email to enquire on progress, but had to chase this three time over the course of a week to get a response. I was told all was to schedule. A week before the due date I emailed again to make sure it was still on time, but was then told it will be a week later - no worries I am a patient man. It did arrive a week later than originally stated, and to be honest I have no problem with that; I can understand the issues companies have with the supply chain. Once received, the product was great, really pleased. However, I did then email once more to ask for some sort of receipt for my purchase; finally this was then emailed through a week late. In summary, I just feel that the communication post purchase could be better, even if it is automated emails - the online portal lacks information and when you have spent so much, you want some assurance that it has been received and is being processed.

The staff are helpful and patient. The instructions were clear BUT moving the controls from crossbar to handlebar was not mentioned. I spent worrying minutes pressing the crossbar button 🤔🤣

Dire experience dealing with them remotely

Dealing with them direct (not via a showroom) has been extremely difficult. They failed to respond adequately to the issue I raised about the bike, so I trusted my gut and initiated a return for a refund. Seems like that was the right call since from the outset it has felt like a slog to deal with them, the responses either being slow or non-existent. They've had the bike back for almost four weeks, although they never told me they had received it. I tried the chat system after two weeks and was told it would take two weeks from return (!), but as usual since then silence prevails. My last forlorn attempt to use the chat system left me hanging so I gave up. The most recent email unanswered as usual. My advice based on personal experience is that as long as you live near a showroom then Ribble bikes might be an option to consider, but otherwise not. Find a good local bike shop/dealer … which is what I've now done. Also, check your Ribble bike has a legible serial number, if not see if this is a problem for your insurers.

Very delayed delivery promise

After leaving a great review of my order experience with Clitheroe branch, all has gone downhill from there & I see from other reviews I am not alone. I ordered & paid for my Endurance sle in February 2024, was first given a delivery expectation of early March, several changes since & only when I chased. Latest scheduled despatch estimate 13th May (I think this year!!!!) but online portal still shows no change in status from "processing, promised". The customer service from Ribble is awful. Could someone just be honest about what is going on here?
