My favourite shoes were a pair of Barker Javrons, but they were a bit long in the tooth to wear at the wedding of a friend's daughter so I did a search for replacements. Robinson's came up as the best option for price and delivery and I ordered from them. Sadly Royal Mail's service did not match that of Robinson's - longish story but they lost them. I contacted the store for advice and James was super helpful. He processed the claim against RM, and helped me with a suitable replacement. Add all that up and it's a clear 5* to Robinson's and 0 to RM

Bought barker shoes that weren't as expected due to barker changing manufacturing process to reduce costs. Robinsons responed quickly to my email and took the time to investigate and respond to my query. Very helpful would definitely use again.

First of all, the product selection is great! I bought a pair shoes for my dad and 6 months later he asked for the same pair but a different colour because he loved the look and feel so much. Second of all, the sales department are extremely helpful and kind. I was dealing with 'James'. 🙂

I ordered the Dubarry Galway Slimfit and further along the line I changed my mind about the colour. This was never a problem and the boots arrived as per email. Beautiful boots. Both boots and Robinson Shoes well recommended.

Good communication

I ordered a pair of Dubarry boots on 27th November 2021. I have regularly made contact via email with Robinson's to check on progress. On each occasion, James has always replied in a timely manner. Unfortunately my boots were not going to arrive pre-Xmas, so I made contact with James who provided an immediate credit and agreed to supply the ordered boots free of charge as soon as they come into stock. I will upgrade my experience to 5 star once I receive the boots in the New Year.

Fantastic service from James

I viewed 2 pairs of RM Williams boots January 2020 online when there was a sale price of 30% off and then eventually decided I wanted to buy them but the sale price at that time had expired as I was late in pressing the buy button. However, I emailed James and explained I wanted to buy 2 pairs and he thankfully honoured the discount. I live in the Middle East and they arrived within 36 hours. However one pair were faulty (manufacturing issue) so I explained to James and he confirmed they would replace at their cost. Due to Covid restrictions in movement and high cost of returning it took me 8 months to get them back to them in a more cost effective manner however I kept communicating to James and he was very patient. By the time they arrived back to the shop they had to wait for new stock to arrive in house from Australia but throughout the process James kept sending me updates and told me the anticipated wait time for the replacements. So two days ago, James emailed me to tell me the new boots would be on their way and within 36 hours they arrived in pristine condition. I thank James for his superior customer service. It may sound like a long time to wait for boots but given the restrictive conditions last year, the patience they showed in my delay in getting them back to them, and their expedient manner of getting them to me as soon as they received them, I highly commend him as he is a credit to Robinson’s. I understand that problems can occur not due to their own issues and if only all customer service was the same as his, we would all be happy customers. Top marks.

Rollercoaster experience - but made good in the end

On 10th March I placed an order for two pairs of Dubarry boots. One pair arrived and were too big. I returned them the same day. Robinsons received these on 19th March (signed for on Royal Mail website). I have not received a refund. The other pair still haven't arrived 17 days later. I emailed Robinsons two days ago saying I wished to cancel the order for the second pair, and received no reply. I have left a telephone message and sent a further email. They took ÂŁ728.00 from my Paypal account on 10th March and I have NO boots. REVIEW UPDATE - after I posted this review, a very helpful person contacted me, explained my email had gone astray and now been found. The second pair of boots had already been despatched and they arrived with me yesterday. I have just received the refund for the returned boots (13 days after confirmation of receipt of return with them). They also offered to pay the return postage if the second pair were unsuitable. It was a bit of a rollercoaster ride, but in the end they did put it right - although I do think nearly two weeks to issue a refund is a 'bit' unsatisfactory.

Much the same problem as a number of…

Much the same problem as a number of other reviews, they take the order and payment and subsequently inform you there's no stock. They encourage you to maintain the order for a small (10%) discount but fail to deliver, indeed I've cancelled my order after 7 weeks of waiting, promises of deliveries and me continually having to chase rather than being kept up to date. Nice enough staff but fail to deliver on the promise. I sincerely recommend you shop elsewhere. **Update - Robinson's did go out of there way to rectify the situation and I am pleased with the result. I am told the website issues are being addressed.

Great shopping experience

Great shop. Item wasn't in stock so offered a discount. Item came back into stock much quicker than expected and they still honoured the discount and delivered within 24 hrs. Sadly the boots didn't fit (not their fault!) but they helped with the return (even calling Parcel Force for me). First class from James and Kenny. Highly recommended.

Dubarry no stock and still waiting for refund

Ordered Dubarry boots on the 8th December. No contact after a couple of days so emailed. Was told they did not have them in stock but would be in stock in 2 weeks. 2 weeks later nothing happened. Emailed and was told it could be another month. Asked for a refund....The next day I got another reply saying if I waited I would get a discount. I had to ask Again for the refund. Finally issued a refund on the 21st December via an echeque on PayPal. This has still not cleared yet 10 days later on the 31st December.... I emailed again... Waiting still......... Simply.. Poor.....

just read the other comments on this page and this company seem to make a habit out of taking orders they cannot fulfil I also ordered Dubarry boots from the website which were in stock. Next day I received an email saying they weren't actually in stock would i like a different pair? Eh no! if I had wanted a different pair I would have ordered them in the first place! I asked for a refund and said i was disappointed that they took my order knowing they could not fulfil it. The refund took a week but in that time I was in contact with helpful staff who apologised for the inconvenience. They even sent me a nice gift to compensate for the hassle! Next time I would contact first to check they actually have the product before I place my order

Redeemed - Poor attitude and customer service

I placed an order online for Dubarry boots for my wife's birthday, 3 days later I was informed they were not in stock and wouldn't be for another 2 weeks, even though the website stated they were in stock and was able to place order. I decided to go elsewhere and asked for refund and confirmation of this. I checked with my Credit Card Company, no advance refund showing after 6 days later. I phoned to ask if this had been done, was advised to email again to the sales advisor, still no response. I finally emailed to say that I would raise a dispute. Finally got a reply confirming refund, but quite rude and abrupt. Poor customer service and consequently attitude when asked simply for a response and confirmation of refund. *Further to this post I received a call from the Sales Manager, who apologised for the 'miss communication' and I have now received my refund. Whilst my review stated the circumstances their apology has altered my view of their service. Therefore in the interests of fairness I have altered my rating. Clearly I cannot comment on such as delivery and items, so my rating has improved on the service only.*

Needed a 60th birthday present for my dad during covid19. I wasn’t sure if they’d be trading so I emailed to enquire. I got a quick and friendly reply and after several emails back and forth I managed to get the shoes I was looking for in his size. They came ahead of schedule and dad loves his new shoes. Can recommend Robinson’s 100% and will be using them again in the future
