Poor Process Issues Let Down Superdry

I want to start by saying that I really like Superdry clothing and have been wearing their jackets, coats, t-shirts and shirts for years. This was actually the first time I have shopped online directly on the website. Beforehand I’d either bought via the eBay outlet store or in the physical shop. My first experience hasn’t been good. Although one of the customer service agents I dealt with was excellent, I shouldn’t have had to contact them on three occasions. First issue: when my order arrived one of the t-shirts was the incorrect size. I’d ordered M but an XL was sent instead. Live chat was very good and ordered a replacement telling me to donate the wrong one to charity. Second issue: my order was split into two deliveries which was no problem. But when the second parcel arrived one of the t-shirts was missing. There was no message or update on my account, just the two deliveries scheduled. So back onto live chat I went. This time I was told the remaining t-shirt was being sent separately and would arrive, coincidentally, at the same time as my replacement item. I questioned this, but was told it would definitely be sent. It never arrived. Instead I received a message a few days later saying the order had been cancelled. Issue three: there was no note on the email about how much the refund for the cancelled item would be. I went back to live chat to ask if I could just pick a replacement colour (as I bought the t-shirts on a promotional offer). This couldn’t be done but I was told the refund would be processed and the amount was confirmed. The delivery fee for my original order was also refunded by live chat which was kind. However, since receiving the cancellation notice on 29 April, I’ve still not received the refund (although the p&p refund came through within just a day or two after speaking to live chat). Poor process issues have let down what should be a seamless experience for a customer. First, quality checking order details (item, size, colour) should be a basic process with minimal room for error, although I admit we’re all only human. Second, account management functions where a customer can see updates on order details and live tracking for deliveries if there are changes is lacking. Throughout the changes in my order, nothing updated in my account section. The order tracking feature is also quite antiquated. It’s expected that customers can easily find tracking details and that they are simple to view. Finally, when an email says an order has been cancelled even though it was in stock when purchased and paid for over a week ago, I expect to be told the reason, given options for an exchange or at least told the amount that is being refunded to my card, either in the email or in my account. Again, nothing has updated in my orders section within the Superdry account. Overall a poor experience and I will be very hesitant about using the Superdry website to order again.
