Claude Thorin Cognan has been an independent producer in Segonzac, in the 1st cru of cognac, since 1950. In the family tradition, he makes cognac and pineau acclaimed for their quality and finesse. Fascinated by his grandfather's work, André Thorin set about rebuilding the family vineyard. André Thorin planted his first vines in 1950. In the early days, the estate included a few parcels of vines in the commune of Mainxe, located in Cognac's most prestigious cru, Grande Champagne.
