Braastad Cognac, the nose of our master blender plays an important role in the making of our cognacs. Following the previous master blender, he oversees our stock of casks of cognac from different crus and of different ages to keep track of and to choose from when seeking perfection in our products. For instance, if he feels that the sensation of vanilla in his latest VSOP blend is a little low, he might track down an old cask containing a certain 15 year old Petite Champagne Cognac that he knows has a distinct tone of vanilla and use this to balance his VSOP blend perfectly.

We pick the fruit entirely by hand, placing the whole bunches carefully into shallow crates so that the berries remain whole and keep their ripe juice.  We have worked so hard with the grapes all year; we are not going to damage them at the last minute! Nestled very high in a mountain saddle, the vineyard has a unique “unicorn” terroir, which allows the fruit to ripen fully.

Augier Cognac - Established in 1643, Augier is France’s oldest cognac house. Using traditional methods tailored to the distinctive profile of each specific blend of grapes and soils, the character and purity of the spirit is preserved through no-chill filtration and a refusal of additives. This heritage distiller, part of the Pernod Ricard group since 2013, has limited production with a focus on outstanding quality.

Claude Thorin Cognan has been an independent producer in Segonzac, in the 1st cru of cognac, since 1950. In the family tradition, he makes cognac and pineau acclaimed for their quality and finesse. Fascinated by his grandfather's work, André Thorin set about rebuilding the family vineyard. André Thorin planted his first vines in 1950. In the early days, the estate included a few parcels of vines in the commune of Mainxe, located in Cognac's most prestigious cru, Grande Champagne.
